The Community Foundation of Southern Maryland is seeking local sponsors, artists (all mediums) and vendors for the 2015 celebration of the sporting arts of the Chesapeake Bay. Formally known as the Potomac Wildlife Art Show, the event’s name has been changed to be more reflective of the scope of the show. Artists, Chesapeake Bay Retrievers, wine tastings, decoy competitions, and auctions are just some of the things that take place during the event, which serves as a fundraiser for the Community Foundation. According to Foundation Director Gretchen Hardman, people come from all over the east coast to participate in this truly unique event. One of the founding sponsors is the Chaney Enterprises, and the partners include Rappahannock Decoy Carvers and Collectors Guild and Potomac Decoy Collectors Association. Operating dollars build capacity, to build more funds and provide more grants and scholarships locally.
