Waldorf, Maryland, May 23, 2012: The Chaney Beautification Fund, a Field of Interest Fund at the Community Foundation of Charles County, is thrilled to announce the grant recipients for 2012 Grant Cycle. This competitive grant program focused on areas where Chaney Enterprises has a presence and they are: Charles, Calvert, St. Mary’s, Prince George’s, Anne Arundel and Caroline Counties. Nonprofits, educational institutions and governmental agencies were eligible to apply for the grant. The Community Foundation of Charles County’s Grants Committee accepted and reviewed 17 grant applications from five counties and is thrilled to announce the ten organizations selected for this year’s grant cycle.
The grant recipients for 2012 are: Alice Ferguson Foundation (PG), Ann’s Circle at Annmarie Gardens, Inc. (CV), Calvert Marine Museum (CV), Charles County Freedom Landing, Inc. (CH), Charles County Garden Club (CH), College of Southern Maryland (CH), Friends of Jefferson Patterson Park and Museum (CV), Greenwell Foundation, Inc. (SM), Sandy Point State Park (AA), and St. Mary’s College of Maryland / St. Mary’s Arboretum Association (SM).
According to Francis H. Chaney II, creator of the Fund at the Community Foundation, “the Fund is established to help fund projects (i.e. sustainable, environmental, building, landscaping, visual improvements, etc. . . .) that add beauty (i.e. a positive addition towards a higher quality of life) to the Communities in which Chaney Enterprises does business by matching donated resources (cash, time, materials, etc. . . .) by Community Stakeholders with cash and/or construction materials from Chaney Enterprises, Affiliates and Friends in the Sustainable Land Use Industries.”
