Are you bombarded with giving letters and want to give back but don’t know where to start? Did you recently inherit assets and are looking to be more strategic about your giving? Would you like to create your own legacy or learn about endowments? Would you like to join a women’s giving circle? Or just want to learn more about the Community Foundation?

The Community Foundation of Southern Maryland invites local residents with a vision and a passion for community to join them on Friday, June 6, 8-9 a.m. for coffee and to learn more about the Community Foundation.

The Community Foundation of Southern Maryland is a 501 c3 public charity and is one of over 1000 community foundations globally. Our purpose is to act, literally, as the community’s own foundation for giving back. The Community Foundation of Southern Maryland is made up of a collection of separate funds established by individuals, organizations and others to help sustain the community today and forever. These funds are pooled and invested through the auspices of a Board of Directors comprised of community citizens. The funds’ income, and sometimes principal, is distributed as grants and scholarships. Community foundations are one of the fastest growing sectors of philanthropy in America today and often are known as the frontrunner for fostering collaborative efforts to maximize community resources.

Please RSVP to Gretchen Hardman at gretchen@cfsomd.org or by calling 240-670-4483 (GIVE). To learn how you can help make Southern Maryland the best place to live and give.
